More updates inc.

Alright I will tell you all some more about all the crazy things Im up to. Most important thing gotta be that I will now official be a owner of a house! OH yesh I finally move away from my parents. Some might wanted to say "oh boy, 24 and still you live with your MOM and DAD" but thats to late now! In 10 days I will get the keys and then the huge clean up project will begin. I can't belive how someone can live in a house with so low standards as the retard I bought it from. His been living there for around 20 years now and in those 20 years he hasn't done a thing to it. It's so messy everywhere and there is so many things I have to fix before I can live there. There is a huge garden on around 700 m2. but there is trees everywhere and the grass is like one meter high. I will be spending the next 2 years to make it a perfect place for me. So sometime in 2009 it should be done, around the same time I complete my education hopefully. I will of cause write some more about this huge project later on...

My family and I went on a trip to USA the 7/7 - 2007 for almost 4 weeks. I wanted to show them all the great places that I have been to due to the time I was in ACE. We had a awesome trip and I might upload some pictures once I have abit more time. I really wanted to go to Flagstaff to say hello to Kazuko and Kati but there was no time for it sadly. We drove on the highway just 1 mile away from Flagstaff, sooo close but yet so far away.

Im gonna log for now, but will be back with more news about the project Im gonna start soon!

Hello everyone, Im back!

After almost 3 years of not updating my blog I decided to check in and see if anything had happend. I'v got alot of new friends I see. All the super awesome spammers, with tons of new links I should check out, NOT. Im gonna try to delete them and make this blog as clean as possible.
Anyway, alot has happend the passed 3 years, after the best trip of my life ended the 22 dec. 2004. When I came back home from USA, I slacked for a few months before I started my education as an Electrician. I finished the 2nd year out of 4½ in the beginning of May and Im still such an failure when it comes to stream. I thought this would be the perfect job for me really, since my name is Michael Strøm Madsen. "Strøm" as in "Stream" in english. GET IT? (what a lame joke by the way - but I still hear it every day). Enough about my job!

What else have I been up to..? Well for starters I started to play this game called World of Warcraft. Iv been playing it ever since it came out in the early 2005. Its a online game were you waste a lot of time and get to know a lot of uncool people who thinks they are gods of some kind. The sad thing is that Im still playing it and using alot of time doing so, but I got the feeling that I will see the light, get out of the shadow and quit the game:) And now to something else..

To all the ACE people out there who knows about this blog, which is close to zero now I bet. LOOK OUT! rumor says that my sister can be found among the volunteers this year. To be more precisely She is right now as we speak in Santa Cruz in California working like a slave! Im so happy that she got accepted to join ACE. Here is a link for all ze people who have no clue what Im talking about: http://www.usaconservation.org/

_Anyway_ I better stop now. I got lots of things coming up now, which I want to share with you guys, so check back once in a while cause Im planing on updating this blog abit more often

G. Canyon Village project

Hey everyone!
I know it's been awhile, but I haven't got much time free and I guess I am a bit lazy to. But now you will get the story of my life for the last 14 days at once! Wow, can't wait can you?

I have been on two projects at the G. Canyon village, just came back from the last one this Friday. The one I just came home from was boring! We stayed at a cabin, with a kitchen and restrooms. Almost each days after work we stayed in the cabin playing RISK. (Everyone know RISK I assume) and each time I won, more or less. The work we did at the village was this simple: Firefighters cut down trees, we pick up trees, we drive trees to dump and dropped trees dump - tihi. Actually that's was about it, nothing really exiting happened.

BUT the first time we were there was GREEEEEaaT!
We stayed in a hotel called The Grand, which is one of the most expensive hotel in the area. Each night (normal price was 175 dollars) - Chris payed 50, plus he got dinner coupons for the hole week for free! We were 6 on the project and we ate for 200 dollars each night. Here is what I got the 4 days I were there:

  1. Black grilled ribs with potatoes, and a huge brownie.
  2. Grilled Elk (mums), and a giant ice cake.
  3. Grilled Salmon with potatoes and vegetables, and a chess cake.
  4. Grilled Salmon again. But this time a chocolate cake.

But the best was the helicopter flight over the grand canyon the last day. Yeah that's right I got on a helicopter and saw the grand canyon. I cant explain how great is was! We had to pay only 6 dollars for it, because we worked for the grand canyon crew. on the flight over Grand Canyon I used all my memory on my memory card. Took like 50 pictures and 8 videos!

Over and out.

My sweetheart!

This is my sweetheart, I am so proud of her! She is called Ulla, probably the most sexist name ever! I think Jason found a nickname that really suit me well. (Killa). Oh Yeah baby! There is only one problem through; it's not working:(. I have no idea what's wrong with it, and I am going on a project to morrow to Grand Canyon again again, so I will first be ably to get it to work in 5 or 6 days. I'm going to kill birds, dogs, cats even humans with it. Some might say I am evil, but that's just the way I am...

Anyway do you guys think I can bring it on the airplane in my big backpack, without losing it or get arrested for attempted terror?

Grand Canyon

The project at the Grand Canyon were great!! I was suppose to be at the big campsite together with Josh, but when we arrived Gavin told me to go down in the canyon with Mikkel, Rune and 3x Chris. We hiked around 3 miles the first day before we found a very nice campsite, were we camped for the night. The next morning we hiked 5 miles down the canyon to we found a campsite at a small river. It was a awesome campsite, just in the middle of a dryed river. The first couple of days we could sit in tshirts in the evening playing cards, but then it started to rain for 2 hole days. So in the middle of the night Gavin woke us up because of the rain and we had to find a new campsite. The dryed river were suddenly not that dry anymore, so if we stayed there all our stuff would have been very wet... The next morning we had to work the hole day in the damn rain, and the next day wasn't any better. So no one was very happy and the mood was a bit negative.
Then the day came when we had to hike back to the big campsite. We all wanted to see the Colorado river before we left so we went all the way down to it. When we came back we started the long hike back to the big campsite on the top of the South Rim. 8 miles doesn't sound to be a big problem, but with a 60-70 pounds backpack and all the way is just up, up, up it was very hard. The hike almost killed me, but I was not the only one suffering. All in all we hiked 11-12 miles that day so my legs were useless the next couple of days.

Picture of the long hike down the Canyon:

Thanksgiving with ACE

As Jason wrote it : "I love you" This was my first real thanksgiving, and I love it! All from ACE were invited to the thanksgiving which were hold in a church in Flagstaff. Allison and the girls from the white house were making the dinner, and they sure did a good job! (but the one I made with Simon and Mikkel was a bit better) Anyway Chris Baker and Annis was at Bakers parents, so we decided to bring alcohol. Well the supervisors knew it but they didn't say anything about it, cause nobody got drunk. After the Great thanksgiving we took back to the old house and started to play poker. I got pretty pissed, but compared to Mikkel it was nothing. Some of the Koreans girls tried to learn us some of there's funny games and Mikkel got very in to it. At 4 am I went to bed and that's about it. It will sure take me some time to forget that night!

Next project

Tomorrow me and Mikkel is going to Grand Canyon, again the South Rim. I am starting to like trailwork and I like to be at the Grand Canyon, so I am looking forward to get away from Flagstaff. This time Josh is the supervisor, together with Gavin so it can't go wrong. Last time Lindsey were the supervisor and she didn't really know what to do at the trail so we were more or less by us self. I will be back from the Canyon the 24. and then Allinson is going to make a Christmas turkey for everyone who signed up for it. I don't really like Allinson, she just stolen the old house radio and that just makes me more mad at her. But I am going to take it back today, 'cause she just went on a project today. The only thing I dislike about the Canyon project is the 7 miles hike up and down the trail each day. The first couple of times is okay, but after the 4th. time its get boring. I gtg and make me some lunch.

btw. we got a new couple. Ester and Danish the Menace is together now. They kept humping all the night so I am kind of tired now.

Belgians...

I might as well tell you the hole story about the Belgians...

Friday night after a party at Charlies, Sandrin from Belgian got arrested 'cause she had some marijuana on her. She was driving home with a friend drunk, that's why the police caught her. Anyway she was lucky, only her friend got all the trouble. Chris Baker found out of it because the police dropped her at the old house. So she had to go visit him today... She was not kicked home, but I think it was pretty close. Dennis the Danish guy had to visit Chris Baker today as well, 'cause of the "pee'ing in the room thing" he did 1 week ago. He told me if he had denied it he would have been kicked home, 'cause Chris were very pissed.

Ester another Belgian, got a nasty call from her bank yesterday about her visacard. Someone had copied the card and used it in Australia. She had lost 500.000 franc, which is around 15.000 dollars.

that's about it - over and out
